| There are plenty of these in Can Editing Be Too Radical, including some conflicting ones. The thing about a rule of thumb on a clublet (wiki) is that your own thumbs up or down ends up being part of the rule. The strength of the impact depends of course on the respect you have earned with others in the community.
Mutual respect is crucial for this community from start to finish of course, even if it's never going to totally evenly distributed from all to all at all times t. One very encouraging aspect of looking at Can Editing Be Too Radical has been email communication this morning from Josh Grosse that indicates among other things that where Josh was radically edited - at least initially not entirely to his liking - he has sufficient respect for the person chopping away to improve his text and the rest of the community not to be at all bothered about the result now (it could even be more positive than that but I don't want to go beyond the evidence!).
I don't aim to tidy up Can Editing Be Too Radical for a while. Please indicate the way you want us to proceed through your actions and goodwill to all. More radical editing please. -- Richard Drake
